About me

I'm Meg, the proud owner of Cookie's Canine Comforts. I am an experienced and reliable dog walker, pet care provider and certified ultrasonic teeth cleaning technician. I have owned animals my entire life (from snakes to horses!) and they are my absolute passion; I couldn't imagine a life without them. I currently have my own little pooch, Cookie, who is a King Charles Cavalier and one horse, Rio, who I have owned since he was 18 months old, he is now 6. They both have huge personalities and so much love to give, which is one of the reasons why I absolutely adore working with animals - no day is the same! 

 

Career history

I have spent the last 10 years working as a Registered Nurse, however, prior to the pandemic, I retrained as a mobile dog groomer and set up a small dog walking business. Due to the unforeseen circumstances of Covid 19, I decided to return to Nursing and help those in need, but thankfully in 2024, I went back to doing what I love most; working with animals. It has always been my dream to have my own pet care company and I have continued to further my skills and knowledge by becoming certified in Emmi-pet ultrasonic teeth cleaning. After noticing that my own pooch already had plaque and tartar build up before the age of 2, I was more determined that ever to ensure he had the best possible dental hygiene routine, particularly with my experience as a dog groomer and the multiple cases of dental disease that I unfortunately came across. I am passionate about educating pet owners about the importance of good oral hygiene for their dogs and how this can be achieved.

Credentials 

To ensure I have the best possible knowledge and skills in the event of an emergency, I am level 3 pet first aid trained, fully insured (public liability and professional indemnity) and enhanced DBS checked, so you can rest assured that your pets will be in safe and reliable hands at Cookie's Canine Comforts.
